Leading Off…

Pressured and corrective periods are some of my favorite times in the lifecycle of the market.   They allow newer future leaders to emerge while tired former leaders are allowed to rest.

The selling of these timeframes is similar to a cleansing rain.  In order to move higher you need a fresh vibrant crop of new fundamentally and technically sound leaders to emerge.  The “rain” of selling allows this natural process to happen.

This rotation I’m speaking of is good for the market.  This rotation is also why you don’t hold on to old leaders hoping and wishing that they could come back to their old highs…you could be waiting a very long time…. Does Microsoft ring a 14 year bell for anyone?

So here in the shop at Noram Asset Management we’ve been constructing our watch list.  If the markets decide to push past resistance on institutional quality volume we will be cautiously stepping in to a very select group of stocks.  We’ll also be executing my ETF strategy for the firm’s clients.

Keep in mind – this is only if we get our technical signal.  We’re not placing bets, we’re not speculators.   There’s no need to be early and guess.  We interpret what the gauges of the market tell us – then we take decisive action.

Is your shopping list of leading stocks ready?  Do you have your trading and investing plan written down?  Doing so allows you to act with a purpose vice reacting to the market emotionally and placing stock purchases from your phone because you think the market is moving without you.

If you’re curious about my process, what trading plans we create for the firms clients or my ETF strategy please email me or chat me up on twitter – Tim@NoramCapital.com and @TJReazor

Best Regards,

Tim
